Voter Registration Laws In Pennsylvania
In order to vote in any election, you must first be a registered voter. If you are a first-time voter or have recently moved to a different
area or changed your name, you may need to register (or re-register) to vote. The registration process in Pennsylvania is quick and easy,
and there are a variety of ways you can register.
In Pennsylvania, the deadline to register to vote is 30 days prior to each election.
Applications received after that date will be processed for the next primary, special, municipal or general election.
In Pennsylvania, you can register in person, by mail and at various government agencies.
To register to vote in the State of Pennsylvania, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
Must be a US citizen for at least one month before the next primary, special, municipal, or general election.
A resident of Pennsylvania and the election district in which you want to register and vote for at least 30 days before
the next primary, special, municipal, or general election.
At least 18 years of age on or before the day of the next primary, special, municipal, or general election.

February 14 — First day to circulate and file nomination petitions

March 7 — Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions

March 8 — First day to circulate and file nomination papers

March 14 — Last day to file objections to nomination petitions

March 22 — Last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed nomination petitions

May 1 — Last day to REGISTER before the primary

May 9 — Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot

May 16 — Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted mail-in and civilian absentee ballots

May 16 — MUNICIPAL PRIMARY

May 17 — First day to REGISTER after primary

May 23 — Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots

August 1 — Last day to circulate and file nomination papers

August 8 — Last day to file objections to nomination papers

August 8 — Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination papers

August 14 — Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at the primary

October 23 — Last day to REGISTER before the November election

October 31 — Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot

November 7 — Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted mail-in and civilian absentee ballots

November 7 — MUNICIPAL ELECTION

November 8 — First day to REGISTER after November election

November 14 — Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots
